Online, Blended, and Remote Learning Options
Due to Covid-19 concerns, we will not be offering in-person counselor meetings. If you would like a counselor to contact you virtually about these options, please click on the button below to access our sign in form. We would be happy to meet with you on a virtual platform such as Google Meet, Zoom or a Duo call. You can call or email us anytime.
Utah Online School (Full-time UOS)
This is the option for parents and students who do not wish to return to In Person learning at Lava Ridge.
You will register your student at utahonline.org and take classes full-time through their online curriculum. You will no longer be a Lava Ridge Student and UOS will handle all registration and academic counseling. Of special note: If available, all extracurricular activities must take place at the student’s boundary school. UOS also offers high school classes for credit on the students high school transcript. Visit the website for more information about classes and contact UOS for questions.
Blended Learning (Part time UOS, Part-time LRIS)
This is the option for those who would like to attend Lava Ridge part time to take advantage of our elective classes or Dual Language Immersion.
LRIS counselors will work with UOS to set students up for Core classes and to coordinate a schedule for the classes you wish to attend in person. You will have access to LRIS teachers and counselors for the classes you take here, and you will work with UOS team for online classes.
Remote Learning (Full-time LRIS, temporary Schoology)
This is the option for those who may want to “wait it out” for a few weeks and “see what happens” or for those who may be quarantined due to possible Covid-19 exposure or contraction. This option is for short term only.
You will register for a complete full-time schedule at Lava Ridge, but for the time you are at home, you will work on Schoology, much like was done in the Spring during the shutdown. When you are okay to return to school, you will return to in-person classes. LRIS teachers and counselors will still monitor and assist when needed.
Please contact your school counselor via email or phone anytime or access the sign in sheet above for questions or concerns.
