7th Grade 2021-2022 Registration
Schedule & class change information for 2017-2018
Trimester class changes can be requested by clicking here.
If your request involves a schedule error or missing class period, we will make the change as soon as possible. If you are requesting a different elective class, you will be charged a $10.00 class change fee and no changes will be made until a class change form is signed by both teachers and parent(s).
Students can pick this form up in the counseling center when talking to the counselors about their online request.

We cannot make changes to be with friends or to change lunches. Sorry. Changes that affect teaming will not be considered either.

Intermediate school is a great time to make new friends and expand your comfort zones. We encourage you to be open to new experiences, people, and ideas.
Lava Ridge is beginning a new Social Emotional Learning program called Second Step. This is an evidence-based program which has been proven to increase the academic, social, and behavioral success of students.

Every student needs to be in class EVERY day. Schools are starting to measure every absence rather than only unexcused because every absence has an impact on school success.

We have challenged our students to miss fewer than 5% of the school year. Five percent EQUALS less than 9 days total for the school year. That's one day a month.

Students who meet this goal will be rewarded by celebrations, incentives, rewards, competitions, and field trips. We want them to know that they are doing it right!

Students who are chronically absent miss more than 10% of school and we know this can lead to detrimental outcomes for kids, including a decrease in school test scores, anxiety and social problems arise, high school dropout and crime rates go way up.

Help your student have LIFELONG success by making appointments outside of school hours, planning vacations around the school calendar, and making sure your student is really sick with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher before you let them stay home.

Thanks for helping your student Strive for Five!

Conferences
CCR Conferences are better and easier than ever!
Counselors will be meeting with every 7th grade student to develop a College and Career Plan that will help them as they move in to Middle School & High School.

Please watch the following video with your student and fill out the questionnaire below. This will help us as we meet together to build your individual plan!

Parents are always invited to our planning meetings but we have included all the important information in the video so you can watch it, talk about it, and refer to it if you need to.
Students will be called down individually to meet with one of the counselors over the next few weeks. If you would like to join us for that meeting, sign up with the Appoint.ly SignUp link below otherwise rest assured that we are working with them to build a plan that is useful and meaningful to them!
